Tasked with getting to the bottom of the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts that claimed 257 lives and injured more than 1,400 people, Rakesh Maria, with just 12 years in the IPS and two years in the city as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), cracked the case in less than 12 hours, thanks to a few lucky breaks.
