Aamir Khan criticized the film Black for its portrayal of an 8-year-old blind girl’s mistreatment, calling it insensitive and unrealistic. Amitabh Bachchan defended the film but was disappointed by Aamir's comments. Alia Bhatt, rejected for the role of young Michelle at age nine, later starred in a Bhansali film, Gangubai Kathiawadi.
